Textile Apparel Footwear and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC)

TAFTAC Established in 1996 due to the increasing need for the garment industries to stand together with a unified voice, TAFTAC has become one of the most active and prominent trade associations in the country, representing, promoting and safeguarding the rights and interests of its members. TAFTAC provides a forum for consultation and discussion among members / stakeholders of common interests and seek for the adoption of sound policies allowing the industry to grow and develop.

TAFTAC is headed by 24 Executive Committee members consisting of representatives from well-established factories. They are elected every two years during the Association's General Assembly. The elected members are responsible for providing advice on strategy and policy development, while day-to-day operation is carried out by 27 professional secretariat staff.

Event Details

Switch Garment is a four-year project funded by the European Union SWITCH-Asia Programme and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute, the NGO Geres, and the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC). The objective of this project titled Switch Garment is to increase the competitiveness of the Cambodian garment industry through investment in sustainable energy technologies and practices.

As the Switch Garment project is entering into the 3rd year of project implementation, we are organizing the mid-term event is to communicate the project progress and create a platform where clean energy service providers showcase their products and services to the TAFTAC members to accelerate greener practices in the garment industry.

The Event will welcome stakeholders from garment manufacturing enterprises and industry, garment brands, government, development partners, financial institutions, associations and others. The expected attendance is around 200 -250 people.

The Event will be held on Monday 13th March 2023 (8:30-16:00). At the auditorium located at the main office of CGTI situated on the Western edge of Phnom Penh in the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone. The canteen and CGTI entrance will be used to install booths for energy service providers.
